Conveying your message on the internet today is tough. Think about it for a second. The internet just reached 1 billion websites. We now have 1 website for every 7 people in the world. How do you compete for attention and business with so many other websites? You must create a website that engages with your audience, and stands out from the crowd. The truth is that too many sites lack personality. If you can create the right feeling and environment for your clients, you can stand out from the crowd. Show the weird, goofy side that your friends and family love. Maybe add a bit of humour. Remember to keep it professional as well. We at ucraft have discovered that one of the most effective means of standing out from the crowd is through simple explainer videos.
1. The Power of Explainer Videos
The power of explainer videos is primarily in explaining who you are, not to beat your own horn too much. Check out ucraft’s intro video, that shows the company culture and the main idea behind our product! We decided to show the drag-and-drop functionality from another angle by adding a bit of humour!
2. Tell them what you do
Your prospects must have "how you will help them or their business" spelled out for them. Take this example from BetConstruct. In this quick, clear 120-second video, you learn more about what BetConstruct does, and how their platform can help you and your business.
3. Engage your audience
Continuing with the idea of stories that we touched on in the first point, tell your clients the story about how you can help them. As Seth Godin said, “Marketing is no longer about the stuff that you make, but about the stories you tell.” One of my favorite explainer videos of all time is the one from the Dollar Shave Club. The video shows founder, Michael Dubin, discussing how his product can help you. However, the approach he takes is funny, and definitely works with his targeted audience.
